I am curious, when it comes up saying OS not found a few times, have you went into BIOS/UEFI to check to see what it detects for hard drive? Not that this is limited to HP hardware, but I have run into two situations where something like this happened. First one, the drive would periodically not show in BIOS. It was fixed by reseating the HDD connection. Even though it worked fine, other than randomly not showing, that is all it took to fix that problem. The second issue was the HDD always showed in BIOS but there was something goofed up in the OS. Again, would work for the most part, then act like it was gone. In the end, on that one, I grabbed the Stock OS from MS, and built from scratch using only the latest needed drivers fresh from HP. See what the BIOS says, the PC may be fine in terms of it picking up hardware, but the OS might not be happy somewhere.
