Hp Pavilion Windows Xp Media Center Edition Iso Download

I own an HP Pavilion a1240n running Windows XP Media Center Edition. Starting two days ago, I cannot log into my computer. Symptoms: Turn the computer ON. It starts up normally and gets to the 'Log On To Windows' window. (The user name is HP_Administrator as we have never bothered to set up any specific user accounts.).

Finding the Right Windows XP Desktop or All-in-One

Choosing a PC that runs the Windows XP operating system requires that you consider exactly what you want in a home or business computer. This could mean selecting a traditional desktop model with plenty of media-friendly features or a convenient all-in-one with a slim profile that fits neatly onto your desk at work.

  1. Commonly known as a orange disc. This requires a DVD! Windows XP MCE 2005 SP2 ISO 2.67GB No key needed with a Dell machine.
  2. Download Easy Recovery Essentials, our recovery and repair disk for HP computers. If your computer series is Pavilion and Media Center, the folder you're.
  3. Rar123, Your HP came with one of these two, and maybe both: 1. Manufacturer-supplied Recovery CDs/DVDs that will completely reinstall XP Media Center Edition onto.
  4. HP Pavilion Home PC System Recovery (Windows XP Home Edition). (Windows XP Home Edition) Item Preview. Disc 1.iso download.
  5. HP manufactured several models of computers with Windows XP Media Center (MCE) as the operating system but without a TV tuner card. To view TV on your computer, install a TV tuner card that is compatible with the edition of Media Center that is on your computer.

How Does an All-in-One Compare to a Regular Desktop?

There are many different form factors when you're selecting a Windows computer. You've got smaller, portable computers like laptops and notebooks or more traditional machines with towers. Yet another type of computer is an all-in-one, and there are some features that may make it appealing, especially for those users with smaller spaces.

  • A traditional Windows desktop has several components that include a monitor, a keyboard and mouse, and the tower that houses the processor, disc drive, hard drive, and other important components.
  • Conversely, an all-in-one manages to consolidate all these components into the monitor, or display, meaning you don't need a tower at all.
  • The only components you have with an all-in-one are the display and any peripherals you install, such as a keyboard, mouse, or an external hard drive.

What Are Some Considerations When Buying a PC?

Looking at Windows PCs can sometimes be overwhelming, especially since there are so many decisions you have to make when buying one.

  • You'll need to decide how much memory you need. For short-term memory, which helps with everyday tasks and keeps your computer running efficiently on a daily basis, you're looking at the RAM, which ranges from models with 1 GB up to 4 or 8 GB. In cases where you're running numerous of tasks at once, you may want to consider as much as 16 GB.
  • In addition, think about the operating system. Though XP is a good option, there are later versions of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows 10, so consider the features of each version.
  • You may need to plug in some peripherals regularly, whether it's external optical drives, printers, or docking stations, so you need to be sure that the Windows computer you pick has the right ports, such as USB 2.0 or 3.0, HDMI, and/or VGA.

Which Models Are Available?

Though there is a wide variety of PCs and all-in-ones available, there are a few HP Windows devices to consider.

  • The Compaq D530 offers a 2.4 GHz Intel processor, along with a 40 GB HDD and an optical drive.
  • Consider the HP Pavilion model number M7570N, which offers a 2.8 GHz Intel processor, the Windows XP operating system, and media features that allow you to integrate television with the computer.
  • The mini tower DC7800 model includes a dual-core processor with a built-in DVD-RW disk drive along with USB ports to install peripherals and other hardware. It also boasts a 160 GB hard drive.

Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi all!

I was hoping to download a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit ISO from Microsoft, but I am having difficulty. Since I bought my laptop from HP with Windows preinstalled, the Microsoft site will not allow me to obtain an ISO. It requires me to contact my manufacturer instead.

How can I obtain a Windows ISO from HP?

Thanks

Rex

Rex
Did you try this website for downloading the ISO:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery
Enter the 25 character product key printed in the COA sticker on the back of the laptop and download the ISO

Update: If the above don't seem to work, the only option left is Recovery USB from HP.

If your key is still visible on your COA sticker you may try to download the appropriate Windows version from Digital River and burn your ISO to disk if it is still available.

@Nuccii

Update:

As of February 2015, these direct downloads have been pulled. 'Free' access to the OS disk images is somewhat limited now.
The takedown is probably permanent to force customers to download their installation media on the new Software Recovery Centre. The new site gives you access to the required ISO file in any of 19 available languages: Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional, Hong Kong), Chinese (traditional, Taiwan), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Spanish, Swedish.
However, entering a product key is mandatory. Unfortunately, only retail product keys will work. For users of OEM or System Builder (SB) licenses, the disk images are out of reach. The recovery centre is only available in supported regions.

Hi Visruth, thanks for your response.

As you say, I do not have access to the Microsoft ISOs with my OEM license. How would I obtain a recovery usb from HP?

Thanks

Order recovery USB:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6195us-Entertainment-Notebook-PC/5082216/model/5...
Contact HP directly for recovery USB:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/product/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6100-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-serie...
Or from here:

Either way it'll cost you $30 or so.

Windows wont let you use an OEM license on their site, the code won't validate. And, FYI, if you purchase discs from HP they will ONLY work with the exact same hard drive. So, if your hard drive fails, and you buy a larger or smaller one - you can't use their disks.

I wish that were true. I spent 2 hours one day, and another hour a second day trying to make my download work. After all that they said I needed a CD, which they then mailed. The CD came, and I spent another 2 hours on the phone, because the recovery gets all the way to the end and then I get a rstone.exe error. I finally got to someone new, and they said that the disk is expecting the 750GB drive, and since I purchased a 500GB drive, it would not work. They said my only option was to buy a new hard drive, that exactly matched the specs. After 5 hours on the phone, I was done. Felt too much like a bait and switch.

That is because you had 0rignally 750 GB. You downgraded to 500 GB. The disk was imaged to the CD with 750 GB so it has to be anything above 750 GB. That is just the way HP work on consumer grade. Now the Buiness models you have the OS DVD a HP Branded OEM for whatever OS. Now as for the C.O.A you cannot download from Microsoft with the HP OEM C.O.A. But if you purchase an OEM OS DVD unbranded with C.O.A you can use the key tom download. So as long as it's not a branded C.O.A you can download from Microsoft using media creation tool.
